  • Interviewed Liz Landers about Paschal Candle..
  • Found yet another picture clue. Why is this happening??
  • Clubbers found another coded message on the back. (see below)
  • Clubbers went after where the picture-clue might lead.
  • Picture kept leading to more pictures! Will this never end?
  • The worms have gotten sneaky and left no traces this week..
  • The pictures all had some text on the backs. Pictures and text below
  • We must move to Paris on another secret assignment. We will continue to direct the investigation by email.

    Conclusions: The mystery still goes on. We discovered so many "light" references, that it must be important.

    We must continue the investigation.

    Time and Date of Interview: July 23, 2009

    Witness (W)

    D: Please state your name and occupation
    A: Liz Landers, head of Altar Guild, nosey.
    D: Can you please tell me what you know about the missing Paschal Candle?
    W: I work on the Altar Guild. We are responsible for the care and set up of the altar space for all of the various worship services. I happened to be on the team that was setting up the altar on the weekend the candle went missing. So I guess we were the last to see the candle in the church before it went missing.
    D: Walk me through that day- and don’t leave out any detail- you can never know how important it might be…
    W: After the 10 am service we usually work to put the altar to rights- you know, clean up any mess- cover the linens so that they don’t get dusty, refresh the floral arrangements. I was working with Barbara Willman.
    D: Did you notice any worms? You know, suspicious worms…not the regular worms…but like shifty worms…
    W: No, I did not see any worms.
    D: Did you hear any worms?
    W: I don’t think I know what a worm sounds like…but I did hear Maggie Marshall practicing with the horn choir- you know, trumpets and such. I think that was Steve G., Scott and Leah. And Tom was helping Steve Sullivan pick up the pews. And now that I think of it, I also heard Harry Taplin laughing…
    D: Do you know what he was laughing about? Worms, perhaps?
    W: I didn’t hear what he was laughing about, but he was talking to Amy Hunter and Paul Krenitsky. They were looking at photos from Harry’s garden. Maybe it was a picture of a worm??? I wouldn’t know.
    D: Rev. Tom has told us that he thinks the Paschal Candle was NOT taken to be used as a Birthday Candle- due to its large size. Do you have any theories as to WHY someone has borrowed the candle and left a series of photos that lead us around the church?
    W: Well, I am not a detective- but it sounds to me like whoever took the candle is trying to give you a message. Maybe if you can figure out what the pictures are in relation to the meaning of the candle and what it represents, you might be able to figure out who has it? I found this picture. What are the other pictures of? Where are the pictures leading you? Maybe if you wrote down what the pictures are of and who was around on the morning it disappeared you could figure out who has it and why….
    D: You are right. You are not a detective. Thank you so much for your time. Please do not leave the area. We might need to question you again.
    W: But I am leaving for Texas to visit my daughter’s family tomorrow.
    D: Oh, well, have a safe trip.
